1. About Us

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of removal and transport services by Bristol Man & Van, a sole trader business based in Bristol, UK.

By booking our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.

2. Booking & Confirmation

A booking is confirmed only once a deposit has been received and you have received written confirmation from us (by email, WhatsApp, or SMS).

  • All bookings must be confirmed in writing.
  • We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.
  • Please ensure all information provided at the time of booking is accurate and complete.

3. Deposit & Payment

To secure your moving date, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking:

Local moves: 20% deposit required to secure the date
Long-distance moves: 30% deposit required to secure the date

The remaining balance is due on the day of the move, before unloading begins. We accept the following payment methods:

  • Cash — on the day of the move
  • Bank transfer — must clear before unloading begins
If payment is not received in full on the day, we reserve the right to withhold delivery of goods until payment is made.

4. Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

Cancellation with more than 14 days' notice: Full refund of your deposit — 100%
Cancellation with less than 14 days' notice: Deposit is non-refundable

Cancellations must be made in writing via email or WhatsApp. The date of cancellation is the date we receive your written notice.

5. Rescheduling

We will always do our best to accommodate rescheduling requests, subject to availability. Rescheduling requests must be made in writing as early as possible.

  • Rescheduling with more than 14 days' notice — no additional charge.
  • Rescheduling with less than 14 days' notice — may be subject to an admin fee of up to £50.
  • We cannot guarantee availability for your preferred new date.

6. Our Responsibilities

We take great care with every item we handle. We are responsible for:

  • Carrying out the move with reasonable skill and care.
  • Arriving at the agreed time (subject to traffic and circumstances beyond our control).
  • Keeping you informed of any delays as soon as possible.

We are not responsible for:

  • Damage to items that were not properly packed by the customer.
  • Damage caused by items that were not declared as fragile or high-value.
  • Delays caused by circumstances beyond our control (traffic, weather, access issues).
  • Loss or damage to cash, jewellery, documents, or other valuables unless specifically agreed in writing.

7. Insurance & Liability

Bristol Man & Van holds Goods in Transit insurance and Public Liability insurance. Coverage is included as standard with every booking.

  • Goods in Transit: covers accidental damage during loading, transport, and unloading.
  • Public Liability: covers accidental damage to third-party property.
Please note: high-value items (artwork, antiques, electronics, jewellery) may have limited coverage. If you have items of significant value, please inform us at the time of booking so appropriate arrangements can be made.

8. Customer Responsibilities

To ensure a smooth move, the customer is responsible for:

  • Ensuring all items for transport are ready and accessible at the agreed collection time.
  • Disclosing any fragile, high-value, or unusual items at the time of booking.
  • Ensuring safe and legal parking access at both collection and delivery addresses.
  • Ensuring that all items belong to you or that you have authority to move them.
  • Being present (or having a representative present) at both collection and delivery addresses.

9. Late Keys & Overtime

If access to the property is delayed beyond the agreed time, or if the move runs past 5:00 PM, overtime charges will apply at a rate of £35 per 30 minutes per crew member.

These charges are payable on the day in addition to the agreed quote price.

10. Quotes & Pricing

All quotes are based on the information provided at the time of enquiry. The final price may be adjusted if:

  • Additional items are added that were not included in the original quote.
  • Access conditions differ significantly from those described.
  • The move takes significantly longer than estimated due to customer-related delays.

Any price adjustments will be communicated and agreed before additional charges are applied.

We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 2 business days and resolve them within 14 days.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
